From the restored area of Williamsburg
. From Merchant's Square, take Jamestown Road, Rt.31 toward Jamestown. 
. Continue to follow Jamestown Road, Rt. 31, for 6 miles.
. The road will take you directly onto the Ferry Dock. The ferry is FREE and run approx. each 30 min.
. Depart the ferry at Scotland's Wharf, bear right at the top of the hill (ignore anyone directing you to turn left, that is a different event) and continue on Rt. 31 for approx. 2 miles. 
. Follow the signs to Smith's Fort which will be on your right.

 From Richmond and points to the north
 .I-95 South toward Chester and Hopewell
 . Exit 61A to connect to Rt. 10 toward Hopewell
 . Follow Rt. 10 for 39 miles to the town of Surry.
 . At the traffic light in Surry, continue thru the light on Rt. 31 toward the Jamestown Ferry.
 . Go approx. 1.5 miles, Follow the signs to Smith's Fort
 
 From I-64 heading East toward Williamsburg
 . Take Exit 234 and bear Right on Rt.199 toward Williamsbug. Go 8.3 miles to the intersection with Rt. 31 and turn Right toward Jamestown. 
 . Rt.31, Jamestown Road, will end at the ferry dock in 6 miles.
 . The ferry is FREE and run approx. every 30 min.
 . Depart the ferry at Scotland's Wharf, bear Right at the top of the hill (ignore anyone directing you to turn left, that is a different event) and continue on Rt. 31 for approx. 2 miles. 
 . Follow the signs to Smith's Fort which will be on your right.

From I-64 heading West toward Williamsburg
 . Take Exit 242A onto Rt.199 .
 . Proceed 6.1 miles to the intersection with Rt. 31, Jamestown Road. Turn Left toward Jamestown.
 . Rt.31, Jamestown Road, will end at the ferry dock in 6 miles.
 . The ferry is FREE and run approx. every 30 min.
 . Depart the ferry at Scotland's Wharf, bear Right at the top of the hill (ignore anyone directing you to turn left, that is a different event) and continue on Rt. 31 for approx. 2 miles. 
 . Follow the signs to Smith's Fort which will be on your right.

 From Norfolk / Virginia Beach and points to the south
 . I-664 to Suffolk and the junction with Rt. 17 North also called Bridge Road for approx. 9 miles.
 . Left at  Rt 258 toward Carrollton/ Smithfield , go approx. 2 mile to Rt. 10
 .  Turn Right on Rt. 10 toward Smithfield. Continue on Rt. 10 Bypass around Smithfield.
 . Follow Rt. 10 for approx. 20 miles to Surry.
 . At the light in Surry, turn Right onto Rt. 31 toward the Jamestown Ferry. Go approx 1.5 miles
 . Follow the signs to Smith's Fort on your left
